« Understand what you love » Hammer . Building this object was a technical challenge, as solid ash couldn’t be shaped this way, we had tu use « defibrated » solid timber from Bendywood. We also had to decrease wood batten thickness and laminate them together in order to achieve the small radius curve wanted by the designer. We first dip the Bendywood and then put it into shapes for 48 hours. All pieces are then dried and ready to be stuck together. Once the lamination finished, we trim the multiply. Head of the hammer is cut with a japanese saw. Mat varnish on wood and red satin lacquer on the bottom. Designed by Robert Staedler for Galerie de Multiple.
